Anna MatyskaPOST DOCI am Anna Matyska, and I will be joining the ENGAGE team as post-doc and coordinator of several work-packages. My research interests include transnational migration, labour mobility, kinship, state, European Union governance and diaspora politics. I defended my PhD in social anthropology at the University of Tampere in Finland. For my dissertation, I explored transnational kinship-making across Poland and Finland against the backdrop of changing geopolitical conditions of the Cold War and the post-Cold War era. My postdoctoral research focused on migration in the European Union. As Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the KU Leuven in Belgium, I researched the intersection between labour mobility, capital and the state within the European space of transnational subcontracting. My most recent research on Polish migrant disappearances was conducted within the project "Governance and Grieving: Disappearing Migrants and Emergent Politics” (DiMiG).
